About the event

Last year, our Beijing event was the biggest and most elaborate of our global event series, spanning three days and bringing together some of China’s brightest creative minds, alongside innovative artists and musicians from overseas.

We were thrilled to return to the world famous 798 Arts District to partner with the eminent UCCA gallery, one of the most innovative and comprehensive art centers in the city. As a thriving artistic community, the 798 Arts District allowed art and architecture to converge with urban culture. The converted factory and its surrounding artist compounds and galleries, colored by China’s past, have evolved into a new age promoting creativity.

We hosted performances by Mount Kimbie, Supermarket, PK14, Glasser, Optimo and Zhang Shouwang of the famed Chinese indie rock band Carsick Cars. We also premiered a selection of shorts by Ray Lei, a new film by Peng Lei, Runscape by Map Office, Spike Jonze and Arcade Fire’s Scenes from the Suburbs, and Logorama by H5.

All weekend, we had a wide variety of interactive installations on display including new work from Aaajiao, Francis Lam (aka DbDbking) and Joao Vasco Paiva, Feng Mengbo’s brand new Bruce Lee VJ Project, Life on Mars Revisited by David Bowie, Mick Rock and Barney Clay and Room With A View by UVA.
