About the event
The Creators Project and WeLoveArt are partnering to host a once-in-a-lifetime evening at La Grande Halle de La Villette.
Sometimes we miss the days before iPods and MP3 players when toting a boom box on your shoulder—blasting the latest hip-hop or dance beats, of course—put a little extra bounce in the steps of all within hearing range. Perhaps in nostalgic, tech-inspired tribute to that bygone era, French Creators 1024 architecture created a ginormous touring BOOM-Box, a unique DJ performance installation that pays homage to the beloved “Ghetto Blaster.”
The 16×8m structure, built to resemble a high-tech tape deck, is rigged with custom software called BOOM-Boxer, which uses a Playstation 3 controller to trigger 3D projected imagery in tune to the music. So much more exciting than the boom boxes of the 90s…
Through a partnership with WeLoveArt, we’re inviting LFO, Miss Kittin and Jackson + special guests to show us what they’ve got inside the BOOM-Box.
